Fantastic Team In Second Life

Friends Who Built the Version of Star Journey in a Virtual World

Star Journey is the vision of one man, but it took a team of dedicated friends to build an entire island and forge a new interactive experience in virtual world Second Life. A collaborative effort that spanned several months produced an island which inspires, maximizes potentials of SL, aids awareness, and provides social context. Here are bios on these valued contributors. (Some wish to share only their Second Life identity, preferring to keep their real lives private.)

Sammy has been in SL since January 2007 and loves to help others. Sammy loves scripting and joined the team in creating things for Star Journey. His pride and joy is his ghost house. Sammy likes to encourage others to be their best and enjoys teaching others all sorts of useful skills.

Star Journey, Michelle Wallace GG visions

Student in Java programming, mother of three teenagers, an aspiring web and virtual worlds designer. Making dreams a reality each and everyday. Living, loving, laughing, and playing as if every single minute were my last. I guess I could tell you all the boring RL details, but really there is no need. I work hard, play hard, and love with all that I am.

An extremely bright and very helpful team member Claudine brings spirit, playfulness and a sense of fairness to the team. She is the organizer along with Shep Galbraith of birthday celebrations for other team members. When asked a question, you can count on Claudine to always give an honest answer.

Shep joined Second Life in 2006, curious to see what all the noise was about. The creativity kept him coming back, and Shep began to build beautiful detailed Australian Queenslander homes in SL as well as a large variety of tropical beach houses.

Art is Shep’s first love. Over the years he has acquired quite a substantial collection of all genres, from some of the best artists in SL and RL.

It was this love of art that led to Shep the builder being asked to create the 12 themed Gateway Galleries in Star journey. Each gallery in itself a work of art. Galbraith Gallery now houses the best of Sheps collection and is open to the public daily.

Richard is a writer, artist, entrepreneur, and decidedly visionary. He is the Dreamer behind Star Journey, which is based on his prior Star+Gate titles published some time ago. Star Journey island is the fullest realization of Richard’s life long dream of a dynamic tool that helps people help themselves.

Carrera joined SL in 2006 with every intention of taking a bite out of Second Life...and escape Real Life for a while.

Reserved, friendly, and witty, Carrera loves good conversation, the rich warmth of castles and building. She enjoys a good challenge and has added many new skills and techniques to her talent-filled portfolio.

Carrera says she’s a simple girl, with a complicated life. She’s in Second Life to be inventive and try her hand at creative endeavors – things she is unable to do in her busy Real Life. Carrera works in medicine and has a 18-year-old son, and in SL she is a Tiny Empires Princess.

LillyAnn Lewsey is a woman of many talents. In Second Life she heads Grace Modeling Agency with its cutting edge fashion models. She also leads the popular group Truth Seer with insightful perspectives on living. As Lilly Calandrello in real life, she is a gifted spiritual consultant, including being a counselor, therapist, writer, and speaker. LillyAnn has helped Star Journey with her expertise in online marketing, especially for spiritual growth products and services, and she's been instrumental in adding phone consultation to our offerings. Many, many thanks, Lilly!!

Made the creation of Star Journey sim possible with his generosity. Founder and former CEO of Crystal Springs Land and Loan company, Skip’s honesty, fair dealings and business sense helped many many businesses get a start in SL. Skip took over as CEO of Capital Exchange Stock Market Simulation Game (www.slcapex.com) in January, 2011, which traded over L$100,000,000 in virtual stock in 2011.

Joined SL in 2006, loves exploring and making new friends. Art is Maat's passion, she created the Star Journey Tattoos and working from Richard Geer's original hand drawings she created the RL/SL art for the Gateway Gallery symbols. Maat, the youngest SJ team member, had this to say, "I'm just starting out in the real world. I'm not liking it but hey life isn't always perfect. - I try to always stay on the positive side of things."

"There was no way I could choose just one place (in Star Journey) ... it all holds meaning to me."

Island Projects – The name fits the man perfectly. Island's passion is terraforming and landscaping in SL. Evidence of this skill wraps around you as you enter all the various the sims (islands) he's sculpted.

Island joined SL in 2004 with another avatar identity. In RL he was coping with the terminal cancer of his partner and learning to sculpt SL land, something Island found relaxing. After the death of his partner, Island retired his original avatar and became Island Projects the Sculptor of Land.

RebelTNT loves to create and build especially useful things. TNT has a soft spot for SL newbies (newcomers) and loves to help where he can. Rebel TNT is friendly and helpful, with wide ranging knowledge of scripting through to sim management, and if he doesn't know an answer he will know who to send you to someone who does. IT and texture creation are his specialties.

In real life TNT runs his own part-time remote assistance business and is second-in-charge in a security firm. His real life is very busy, so SL doesn't see much of TNT at the moment.

There’s a reason she’s called Queen in the group. Rebel has led the building of Star Journey in Second Life. She worked with Starman (Geer) to translate his vision and symbol system into the 3-D interactive format of Second Life, and they formed a partnership. Rebel worked to determine design of the island and its functionality, and she developed a comprehensive business model.

From the earliest days of his First Life, Tetsu Tengu became known as a "wiz kid." Through countless years of arcane studies and many great trials, he has become a wizard ("wise one"). His demonic form evokes the old symbols of energy, ability, and genius.

Tetsu is able to provide worldly wisdom to those who seek and value it.

Beda entered SL to explore and very quickly discovered there was so much more to this “game.” Occasionally shy, always helpful, mainly out-going and vivacious with an “evil sense of humor,” Beda discovered friends, adventures, untold sights of every persuasion and experiences too many to count.

Obi Woebegone likes to script and has had fun making software for HUDs, rezzers, animations, sculpty creation, sensors, and many other things. His specialties include off-world databases and creating re-usable modules for building larger projects. He also likes lemon drops.

"Still trying to find my way to the heart of things."

XArd is a scripter who loves cookies. He was born in 2006 and enjoys the endless possibilities of SL. Always up for fun, a challenge and cookies and... did I say cookies?

In his RL, XArd studies, scripts and works full time and... eats cookies.

Self-confessed as pretty clueless about most things, he admits to being an accomplished linguist excelling in the ancient obscure art of Flungtard, the main language of the Nogilflorp Race. XArd is half Asian and half Kiwi which might just give you a clue on locating the Lost Nogilflorp Race.
