Nina Camplin a.k.a Fuschia Nightfire

Fuschia Nightfire (known in real life as Nina Camplin) is a mural artist specialising in trompe l’oeil. She is interested in challenging the viewer’s perception of space and creating illusions of faked realities. Living in Dorset on the South Coast of the UK, many of her real life paintings feature the sea and the nearby heathland. Fuschia is using Second Life as an alternative medium for creating art and exploring ways of making illusions of false realities in a virtual world.

Star Journey ~ House of the Grand Plan
"I Become"

Whilst looking at ideas for the House of the Grand Plan, I was keeping in mind that the gallery was divided into 4 different levels that were very separate from each other, so I wanted this to have a bearing the work I showed within it. I decided that the final installation had to incorporate a ‘Grand Plan’ and involve 4 levels of ‘becoming.’ The final result of this installation represents the 4 levels of being: mineral, plant, animal, human.

Level 1: Mineral

Represented by the rocks, stones and pebbles. My painting entitled ‘A piece of beach’ was an exercise in photorealistic painting, which I brought into second life and converted into a 3D version.

Level 2: Plant

Organic life forms begin to appear around the rocks, also showing some of my SL photography of plant life

Level 3: Animal

The plant life has attracted animals.

Level 4: Human

Adam & Eve by the tree, symbolic of the beginning of human existence. In the images I have chosen to show here, are shown the most modern representations of humans in the shape of avatars, showing the evolution of mankind.
