Maiden (19)
Star-cross
Symbolizing our vision of purity and beauty is the Maiden, the side of us that seeks the best for everyone. There is a gentle exterior. It is virgin in that it is uncompromised and undebatable. And it is a side that can seem vulnerable to outside influences and to the wills of others.
The Maiden is composed primarily of the Stars of Bowing and Indecision, and it lies in the House of The Perfect Union (VII). Therefore, the Maiden is expressing "I INTERACT" through the energies of INTEGRATING and WEIGHING. It is also an expression of the Sea of Kings (vi). INTERACTION WITH OTHERS, ADDING DIMENSION WHICH THE SELF WOULD NOT HAVE CHOSEN ON ITS OWN — DEALS WITH THE WAYS INDIVIDUALS COMBINE ENERGY WITH OTHERS AND THOSE RELATIONSHIPS AND AGREEMENTS.
The Problem
Knife (32)
Star-cross
The Knife describes our critical side, where we find ourselves exactive about every detail, severing ourselves from what does not suit us, andaggressive in our posture toward others. The Knife represents expressing our discriminating nature, our ability to be critical of others as well as ourselves. Here is the potential of being one’s own worst enemy as a result of hard-lined stances.
The Knife is composed primarily of the Stars of Hope and Indecision, and it lies in the House of The Power (VIII). Therefore, the Knife is expressing "I CARE" through the energies of TRUSTING and WEIGHING. It is also an expression of the Sea of Pyramids (viii). COMBINING THE ENERGIES OF TWO CREATE STRENGTH — VITALITY OF ONE SUPPORTS THE OTHER; POWER REVEALED THROUGH INTERACTING: GOING BEYOND SELF, THE ART OF GIVE AND TAKE.
The Goal
Chain (53)
Key
The Chain is the challenge of commitments, of how we deal with the results of projecting ourselves into the world. We make links, ties with others, in order to have a footing for self-expression. The effects of those links is the dilemma presented by the Chain. It concerns more than just our relationships; it is all the ways we make commitments in the search for understanding and agreement.
The Chain can feel restraining, feeling bound by ties and commitments and wanting to break free. Or, it can represent the hard end ofcommitment. I said I would, and I will! Even if I hold it against you later.
The other side of the coin is, commitments connect me. We agree, therefore we can agree. The Chain gives me the basis for relating to others. A step further brings an even better perspective — integrating. You are trying to establish links to the world, and so am I. In that way we are identical, acting like links in a chain. We make our essential links through small commitments, one leading to the next, in order to function in the world. Through the symbol of the Chain, we see our process is intertwined with others even though we may not always recognize it.
The Chain lies in the House of The Spirit Incarnate (V) and is the realization of "I PROJECT." The Chain is also the realization for the Seas of Magic and Laughing Hats (iv and v). (PASSED BASIS FOR SELF — THIS SYMBOL BEGINS TO DESCRIBE THE SELF’S QUEST FOR EXPRESSION, FOR CREATIVITY, FOR RECEIVING VALIDATION AND PRAISE.
