"The Watcher"

Star

The Star of Austerity denotes a cold, clear look. It is typified by "The Watcher," a being whose only task is to truly see. The energy is that of PERCEIVING, of finding what is really there and what is really going on.

In the picture, the Star’s center shows energy separated from the dot, or consciousness separating itself from an object, in order to truly perceive it.

The Star of Austerity is shared between the ninth and tenth Houses. Therefore, "The Watcher" is part of "I REALIZE" and "I PERFECT." It also creates the light of the Sea of Labyrinths (ix).

The Problem

Glass (28)

Star-cross

The Glass (or mirror) is a symbol of our introspective side. It represents reflection about who we are and what we are about. It is self-examination, pondering our own motives, purposes and behavior. The Glass can be a tool for clarifying what we are all about, but the process can easily be seen as a kind of self-preoccupation or vanity.

The Glass is composed primarily of the Stars of Inwardness and Change, and it lies in the House of The Pure Water (IV). Therefore, the Glass is expressing "I FEEL" through the energies of INTERNALIZING and ADJUSTING. It is also an expression of the Sea of Magic (iv).

Sign

Becoming is the education and development of the self, breeding a conscious understanding about the process of living. The fermentation of that precious fruit is wisdom, a knowledge that serves as a guide for others on the path of their becoming.

The Lamp is in the House of The Grand Plan (VI), and it is the fulfillment of "I BECOME."
