The Pearl is a precious substance formed slowly, day by day, through the process of nature. Here, it is a symbol of enduring the test of time, of profiting from every win or loss, of having been there and back, resulting in a quiet confidence, a self-assuredness that is gained from experience.
The Pearl is in the House of The Power (VIII). It symbolizes the fulfillment of "I CARE."
The Problem

State
The Fog is a diffused condition, one in which borders are unclear, steering is difficult. It is a state of delusions; distance is lost, nothing is as normal, and everything is confusing. It is enveloping. Once surrounded by fog, one feels lost in it and ruled by it.
The Fog is in the House of The Perfect Form (X), and it represents the mixing of The Stars of Austerity and Independence. Therefore, the Fog is the condition of "I PERFECT," an outgrowth of the energy of PERCEIVING combining with FREEING.
The Goal

Gate
The Stone represents the steadfastness of mind that maintains a firm resolve amidst the currents of life flowing around us. To balance what could become sheer bull-headedness, the Stone also symbolizes a sense of inner integrity on which a firm approach is based. This is the integrity of what feels right within, and of acting in step with the model of oneself, true to an inner guide of how one should be.
The Stone is shared between the third and fourth Houses and so represents the gateways of "I RELATE" and "I FEEL." It is also the Gate to and from the Sea of Birth (iii).
